We are retiring District Personnel Instruction No. 21B-18, Health Insurance Coverage for Temporary Employees, as many of the provisions within this 2015 guidance are outdated. The discontinued use of Inst. No. 21B-18 has no impact on temporary employees’ eligibility for health benefits. For a comprehensive guide to benefits eligibility, please refer to the DC Government Employee Benefits Guide for 2021.
Though we are discontinuing the prior instruction, the D.C. Department of Human Resources is committed to providing a comprehensive assortment of health benefits to both attract and retain superior talent for the residents of the District of Columbia. In support of this goal, we are developing revised benefits eligibility rules and will issue updated, companion guidance following the publication of those rules.
